     Sir Archibald Primrose of Ravelston, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1692.1 He was the son of George Primrose of Ravelston, younger and Janet Cunningham.1 He married, firstly, Lady Margaret Fleming, daughter of John Fleming, 6th Earl of Wigton.1 He married, secondly, Mary Primrose, daughter of Archibald Primrose, 1st Earl of Rosebery, on 19 November 1724.1 He died on 15 November 1746 at Carlisle, Cumberland, England, hanged for his part in the 1745 Uprising.1
     Sir Archibald Primrose of Ravelston, 2nd Bt. succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Foulis [N.S., 1661] on 5 August 1707.1

     John Montgomery married Elizabeth Eglinton, daughter of Sir Hugh Eglinton of that Ilk and Egidia Stewart.1
     He obtained the territorial Baronies of Eglinton and Ardrossan through his wife.1 He gained the rank of Battle of Otterburn in 1388 in the service of the where he captured Sir Henry Percy.1

     Mary Primrose was the daughter of Archibald Primrose, 1st Earl of Rosebery.1 She married Sir Archibald Primrose of Ravelston, 2nd Bt., son of George Primrose of Ravelston, younger and Janet Cunningham, on 19 November 1724.1 She died on 17 December 1746.1
     From 19 November 1724, her married name became Primrose.1
