     George Sackville Cotter was born on 1 July 1783.1 He was the son of Reverend George Sackville Cotter and Margaret Rogers.2 He married Jane Crofts, daughter of William Crofts, on 10 March 1819.1 He died on 9 April 1869 at age 85.1
     George Sackville Cotter gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 69th Regiment.1 He fought in the Peninsular War.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo.1
