James Ludovic Grant was born on 7 February 1765.2 He was born in 1767 at Forres, Morayshire, Scotland.3 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Francis Grant and Catherine Sophia Cox.3 He married Ann Bazett.1 He died circa 1826, at sea off Ceylon.1
He was Lieutenant RN, Commander HEICS, chairman Mr Winsor's Ctee for Gas Lighting , Governor Gas Light and Coke County 1812, Master Attendant in the Honourable East India Company Service Madras 1821–27, inherited from his father the estate of Windmill H in 1807.2 He was Captain of the Brunswick and London, with the East India Company Service Service.1

Major Charles Thomas Grant of Grant was born in 1770 at Wokingham, Berkshire, England.2 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Francis Grant and Catherine Sophia Cox.2 He married Hannah (?).3 He married Hon. Emilia Sophia Cary, daughter of Lucius Ferdinand Cary, Master of Falkland and Anne Leith, on 24 August 1798.1 He died circa 1831.3

Sir John Sheffield, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1743.2 He is the son of Sir Charles Herbert Sheffield, 1st Bt. and Margaret Diana Sabine.1,3 He married Charlotte Sophia Digby, daughter of Very Rev. Hon. William Digby and Charlotte Cox, on 3 April 1784.2 He died on 4 February 1815, without issue.2
