     Abraham Crichton, 1st Baron Erne of Crom Castle was born circa 1700.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. David Crichton and Katherine Southwell.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Rogerson, daughter of Rt. Hon. John Rogerson, on 31 July 1729.1 He married, secondly, Jane King, daughter of John King and Rebecca Digby, on 7 September 1763.1 He died on 10 June 1772.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lifford between 1727 and 1768.1 He held the office of Governor of County Fermanagh.1 He was created 1st Baron Erne of Crom Castle, co. Fermanagh [Ireland] on 15 July 1768.1
