     Thomas Rhodes Armitage was born on 2 April 1824.1 He was the son of James Armitage and Anne Elizabeth Rhodes.1 He married Harriet Black, daughter of Stanley Black, on 29 November 1860.1 He died on 23 October 1890 at age 66.1
     Thomas Rhodes Armitage graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.).1 He wrote the book Hydropathy as Applied to Acute Diseases and other books.1 He was a co-founder of the" British and Foreign Blind Association", later called the "National Institution for the Blind."1 He lived at Cambridge Square, London, Middlesex, England.1 He lived at Noan, Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland, jure uxoris.1
