     William Barton was born on 21 June 1790.1 He was the son of Thomas Barton and Mary Ponsonby.1 He married Catherine Perry, daughter of Samuel Perry, in April 1815.1 He died in 1837.1
     William Barton held the office of High Sheriff in 1825.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He lived at Grove House, Fethard, County Tipperary, Ireland.1
