     John Raphael Wentworth Savile, 7th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford was born on 11 October 1906.1 He was the son of John Henry Savile, 6th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford and Hon. Margaret Eva de Burgh Knatchbull-Hugessen.1 He married Josephine Bertha Emily Fletcher, daughter of Captain Andrew Mansel Talbot Fletcher and Frances Jane Winnington, on 23 July 1930.1 He died on 15 July 1980 at age 73.1
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1930 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding, Yorkshire between 1935 and 1947.1 He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1938 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Intelligence Corps.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of Bihar between 1944 and 1945.1 He succeeded as the 7th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford, co. Donegal [I., 1766] on 16 September 1945.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baron Pollington of Longford, co. Longford [I., 1753] on 16 September 1945.1 He succeeded as the 7th Viscount Pollington of Ferns [I., 1766] on 16 September 1945.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the North Riding, Yorkshire in 1947.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the North Riding, Yorkshire in 1967.1

     Josephine Bertha Emily Fletcher was born on 20 February 1908.3 She was the daughter of Captain Andrew Mansel Talbot Fletcher and Frances Jane Winnington.1 She married John Raphael Wentworth Savile, 7th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford, son of John Henry Savile, 6th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford and Hon. Margaret Eva de Burgh Knatchbull-Hugessen, on 23 July 1930.1 She died on 21 April 1992 at age 84.1,3 She was buried at All Saints Churchyard, Hawnby, Ryedale, Yorkshire, England.3
     From 23 July 1930, her married name became Savile.1 After her marriage, Josephine Bertha Emily Fletcher was styled as Countess of Mexborough of Longford on 16 September 1945.
