John Horace Savile, 5th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford was born on 17 June 1843.1 He was the son of John Charles George Savile, 4th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford and Lady Rachel Katherine Walpole.1 He married, firstly, Venetia Stanley Errington, daughter of Sir Rowland Stanley Errington, 11th Bt., on 24 April 1867.1 He married, secondly, Sylvia Cecilia Maria de Ser-Antoni, daughter of Nobile Carlo de Ser-Antoni, in April 1906.1 He married, thirdly, Anne Belcher, daughter of Reverend Andrew Holmes Belcher, on 28 January 1916.2 He died on 8 June 1916 at age 72, without issue.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Cornet in the service of the West Riding Yorkshire Yeomanry.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of the West Riding, Yorkshire in 1877.1 He succeeded to the title of 5th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford, co. John Henry Savile, 6th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford was born on 27 September 1868.1 He was the son of John Charles George Savile, 4th Earl of Mexborough of Lifford and Agnes Louisa Elizabeth Raphael.1 He married Hon. Margaret Eva de Burgh Knatchbull-Hugessen, daughter of Edward Knatchbull-Hugessen, 2nd Baron Brabourne of Brabourne and Hon. Amy Virginia Beaumont, on 15 July 1905.2 He died on 16 September 1945 at age 76.1
