Sir Hugh Dillon Massy, 3rd Bt. was born on 6 January 1797 at Doonass House, Doonass, County Clare, Ireland.1 He was the son of Reverend Charles Dunbar Whitehead Massy and Mary Anne Ross-Lewin.1 He married Mary Johnson Westropp, daughter of John Westropp and Anna Ness, on 26 January 1818.1 He died on 29 October 1870 at age 73 at Kingstown, County Dublin, Ireland, without issue.1 He was buried at Cloonlara, Killenanlea, County Clare, Ireland.1 His will (dated 18 September 1869) was probated on 13 January 1871.2
Sir Hugh Dillon Massy, 3rd Bt. held the office of Sheriff of County Clare in 1833.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Massy, of Doonass. co. Clare [I., 1782] on 28 March 1842.1 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
