     Sir Hugh Dillon Massy, 1st Bt. was the son of Very Rev. Charles Massy and Grace Dillon.1 He married Elizabeth Stacpoole, daughter of George John Baptista Stacpoole and Mary Massy, on 16 August 1766.2 He died on 29 April 1807 at Sydney Place, Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 16 May 1806.2
     He held the office of Sheriff of County Clare.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Limerick City [Ireland] in 1761.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Clare [Ireland] in 1766.2 He was created 1st Baronet Massy, of Doonass. co. Clare [Ireland] on 9 March 1782.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Clare [Ireland] between 1783 and 1790.2 His last will was dated 4 March 1802.
