     John Charles Sheffield was born on 9 September 1834.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Sheffield, 4th Bt. and Julia Brigidia Newbolt.1,2 He married, firstly, Mary Sarah Butler-Stoney, daughter of Thomas Butler-Stoney and Sarah Elizabeth Fannin, on 24 July 1861.1 He married, secondly, Marie Louise Westcott Papineau, daughter of L. J. A. Papineau, on 8 May 1901.2 He died on 12 November 1903 at age 69.1
     He lived at Carrodyne, County Mayo, IrelandG.1

     Emma Sarah Butler-Stoney was the daughter of Thomas Butler-Stoney and Sarah Elizabeth Fannin.1 She married Joseph John Dunnington-Jefferson, son of Reverend Joseph Dunnington-Jefferson and Anna Mervinia Vavasour, on 14 September 1870.2 She died in 1920, without issue.1
     From 14 September 1870, her married name became Dunnington-Jefferson.
