     Lt.-Col. George Butler Stoney was born on 18 August 1877.1 He was the son of Major George Ormond Stoney and Meylia Laing.1 He died in 1916 at Gallipoli, Turkey, killed in action.1
     Lt.-Col. George Butler Stoney was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the King's Own Scottish Borderers.1 He fought in the Gallipoli Campaign.1 He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915.1

     Colonel Patrick Sinclair Stoney was born on 9 January 1880.1 He was the son of Major George Ormond Stoney and Meylia Laing.1 He married, firstly, Elsie Taylor, daughter of Lt.-Col. Lea Taylor, in April 1911.1 He married Constance Jessie Brine, daughter of Ernest Augustine Brine, on 22 October 1927.2 He died on 17 July 1942 at age 62.1
