     She was also known as Hon. Elizabeth Ann Bevil Cary.2 From 21 November 1945, her married name became Nelson.1

     Major Sir William Vernon Hope Nelson, 3rd Bt. was born on 25 May 1914 at Taunton, Somerset, England.2,3 He was the son of William Hope Nelson and Dora Violet Venables Kyrke.2 He married Hon. Elizabeth-Ann Cary, daughter of Lucius Henry Charles Plantagenet Cary, 14th Viscount of Falkland and Joan Sylvia Southey, on 21 November 1945.2 He died on 27 May 1991 at age 77 at Yeovil, Somerset, England.2,3
     He was educated at Beaumont College, Old Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He fought in the Palestine Campaign between 1936 and 1939, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He gained the rank of Major in the 8th KRI Hussars.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1952.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Nelson, of Acton Park, Acton, co. Denbigh [U.K., 1912] on 5 May 1960.2
