     John Brooke was born on 26 May 1794 at Honley, Yorkshire, England.1 He was the son of William Brooke and Hannah Clapham.2 He married Jane Laycock, daughter of William Laycock and Jane Potter, on 1 August 1822 at Bolton Percy, Yorkshire, England.1 He died on 11 June 1878 at age 84 at Kensworth House, Dunstable, Hertfordshire, England.1
