     Ryves William Graves was born in 1819 at Ballingaray, County Limerick, Ireland.1 He was the son of Reverend John Graves and Catherine Anne Baker.1 He married Isabella O'Grady, daughter of Reverend Standish O'Grady, in 1846.1 He died in 1882 at Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.).1 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.).1
