     Commander Henry Fortescue was born on 10 August 1796.1 He was the son of Captain Hon. Matthew Fortescue and Henrietta Anne Hoare.2 He married Caroline Russell, daughter of Sir Henry Russell, 1st Bt., on 2 November 1824.1 He died on 6 December 1875 at age 79.1
     Commander Henry Fortescue gained the rank of Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He lived at The Old Manor, Beckenham, Kent, England.1

     Francis Fortescue was born on 19 August 1826.1 He was the son of Commander Henry Fortescue and Caroline Russell.2 He married Katherine Frederica Ellice, daughter of Captain Alexander Ellice, on 16 June 1855.1 He died on 15 November 1897 at age 71.1
     Francis Fortescue gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Scots Fusiliers Guards.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1
