     Hon. Charles Evelyn North was born on 18 March 1918.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Frederick George North, 8th Earl of Guilford and Mary Violet Pawson.2 He married, firstly, Maureen O'Callaghan Baldwin, daughter of Major Francis Charles Brian Baldwin, on 12 September 1942.1 He and Maureen O'Callaghan Baldwin were divorced in 1957.1 He married, secondly, Joan Aston Booker, daughter of Major Frederick Bertram Booker, on 10 March 1959.1 He died on 6 January 2003 at age 84.1
     Hon. Charles Evelyn North was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1 He graduated from London University, London, England, in 1939 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).1 He was registered as a Member, Institution of Mechanical Engineers (M.I.Mech.E.).1
