     Sir William Hartopp was the son of Sir Thomas Hartopp and Dorothy Bendish.1 He married, firstly, Agnes Lister, daughter of Sir Martin Lister.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Paulet, daughter of John Paulet, Lord Paulet.1 He died circa 1700.1
     Sir William Hartopp was invested as a Knight on 19 June 1660.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Leicester in 1667.1 He lived at Rotherby, Leicestershire, England.1
