     Sir Alexander Dunbar of Northfield, 5th Bt. was born on 12 January 1742.1 He was the son of Archibald Dunbar of Newton, Thunderton and Duffus and Helen Dunbar.2 He married Hon. Margaret Arbuthnott, daughter of John Arbuthnott, 6th Viscount of Arbuthnott, on 21 April 1769.1 He died on 20 December 1791 at age 49.1
     He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Dunbar, of Northfield [N.S., 1700] in 1776.1 On 8 October 1776 he was served heir to the 3rd Bt.2 He was a practising advocate.1

      From 21 June 1871, her married name became Baillie-Hamilton.1
