Sir Archibald Hamilton Dunbar of Northfield, 8th Bt. was born on 5 April 1828.1 He was the son of Sir Archibald Dunbar of Northfield, 7th Bt. and Keith Alicia Ramsay.1 He married Isabella Mary Archer-Houblon, daughter of Charles Eyre, on 15 July 1865.1 He died on 6 June 1910 at age 82, without issue.1
Sir Archibald Hamilton Dunbar of Northfield, 8th Bt. held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Elgin.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 66th Berkshire Regiment.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Elgin.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Baronet Dunbar, of Northfield [N.S., 1700] on 7 January 1898.1
