Sir Norman Pringle of Stichill, 6th Bt. was born on 22 July 1787.1 He was the son of Sir James Pringle of Stichill, 4th Bt. and Elizabeth Macleod.2 He married Anne Steuart, daughter of Robert Steuart of Alderston, on 17 January 1826.1 He died on 18 April 1870 at age 82.1
He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 21st Regiment Northern British Fusiliers.1 He was Consul to Stockholm and Dunkirk.1 He succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Pringle, of Stichill [N.S., 1683] on 15 June 1869.1
