     Lucy Cavanagh is the daughter of Colonel Charles Cavanagh.1 She married, firstly, Sir Lawrence Esmonde, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Esmonde, 1st Bt. and Ellice Fitzgerald.1 She married, secondly, Colonel Hon. Richard Butler, son of Edward Butler, 2nd Viscount of Galmoye and Eleanor Whyte, circa 1691 at IrelandG.1,2
     Her married name became Esmonde.1 From circa 1691, her married name became Butler.1

     Colonel Hon. Richard Butler is the son of Edward Butler, 2nd Viscount of Galmoye and Eleanor Whyte.2 He married Lucy Cavanagh, daughter of Colonel Charles Cavanagh, circa 1691 at IrelandG.1,3
     He went with the King to France.3 He spent 18 months in Newgate prison (said to be enlisting men in Ireland for French service).3 He was a member of King James II's Bodyguard.3 He lived at Galmoy, IrelandG.1

     Lucia Butler was the daughter of Colonel Hon. Richard Butler.2 She married Sir Lawrence Esmonde, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Esmonde, 1st Bt. and Ellice Fitzgerald.1 She died on 17 April 1685.1
     Her married name became Esmonde.

Rt. Hon. Sir Laurence Esmonde, 3rd Bt.1

     Rt. Hon. Sir Laurence Esmonde, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir Lawrence Esmonde, 2nd Bt. and Lucia Butler.2 He married Jane Lucy Forde, daughter of Matthew Forde and Margaret Hamilton, in 1703.1 He was also reported to have been married in 1695.3 He died in 1720.1
     He gained the rank of officer in the French Army.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Esmonde, of Ballynastragh, co. Wexford [I., 1629] before 22 October 1688.1

     Matthew Forde was the son of Luke Forde and unknown wife (?).2 He married Margaret Hamilton, daughter of Hon. Sir George Hamilton, 1st Bt. and Lady Mary Butler, in January 1668.3 He died in January 1708.3
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Wexford.3 He lived at Seaforde, County Down, IrelandG.3 He lived at Coolgreany, County Wexford, IrelandG.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Wexford in 1678.3

     Jane Lucy Forde is the daughter of Matthew Forde and Margaret Hamilton.2,3 She married Rt. Hon. Sir Laurence Esmonde, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Lawrence Esmonde, 2nd Bt. and Lucia Butler, in 1703.1 She was also reported to have been married in 1695.4
     From 1703, her married name became Esmonde.

     Sir Laurence Esmonde, 4th Bt. was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Laurence Esmonde, 3rd Bt. and Jane Lucy Forde.2 He died on 20 February 1739, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Esmonde, of Ballynastragh, co. Wexford [I., 1629] in 1720.1

     Richard Esmonde was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Laurence Esmonde, 3rd Bt. and Jane Lucy Forde.2 He married Helen Butler, daughter of Colonel Thomas Butler and Lady Margaret Bourke.1 He died in 1738 at Huntington Castle, Clonegall, County Carlow, IrelandG, without issue after accidentally shooting himself with his fowling-piece in the hall of Huntington Castle.1
     He gained the rank of Captain.1 He lived at Ballyconlore, County Wexford, IrelandG.1
