     Edmund Butler was the son of Thomas Butler, 3rd Baron Caher and Ellinor Power.2 He married Eleanor Butler, daughter of Edmund Butler, 3rd/13th Baron Dunboyne and Margaret Butler.1 He died between 1642 and 1648.2

Piers Butler, 4th Baron Caher1

     Piers Butler, 4th Baron Caher was the son of Edmund Butler and Eleanor Butler.1 He married Elizabeth Mathew, daughter of Theobald Mathew and Margaret Browne, in 1663.2 He died on 30 January 1676/77 at IrelandG, after a 'surfeit of claret', without male issue.2 He was buried on 1 February 1676/77 at Clonmel, County Tipperary, IrelandG.2
     He succeeded as the 4th Baron Caher [I., 1583] before 1648.2 His last will was dated 29 January 1676/77.2

Sir Thomas Esmonde, 1st Bt.1

     Sir Thomas Esmonde, 1st Bt. was the son of Laurence Esmond, 1st and last Lord Esmond, Baron of Lymbrick and unknown O'Flaherty.2,3 He married, secondly, Lady Joane Butler, daughter of Walter Butler, 11th Earl of Ormonde and Hon. Helen Butler.3 He married, firstly, Ellice Fitzgerald, daughter of Sir John Fitzgerald, circa 19 March 1629 in a unlicenced marriage.3 He died in 1674.3
     He was appointed Knight in 1628.3 He was created 1st Baronet Esmonde, of Ballynastragh, co. Wexford [Ireland] on 28 January 1628/29.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Enniscorthy, County Wexford from 1641 to 1642.3 He gained the rank of General of Horse in the Royalist Army.3

     Thomas Butler, 3rd Baron Caher was the son of Piers Butler and Ellenor Butler.1 He married Ellinor Power, daughter of John 'Og' Power and Hon. Helen Barry, in February 1624/25.1 He died before 1648.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Caher [I., 1583] on 31 January 1626/27.1 On 6 June 1640 he had confirmation of the Manors of Caher.1 From 1641 to 1642 he was in arms with the Confederated Roman Catholic Irish.1

     Ellinor Power is the daughter of John 'Og' Power and Hon. Helen Barry.1 She married Thomas Butler, 3rd Baron Caher, son of Piers Butler and Ellenor Butler, in February 1624/25.1
     From February 1624/25, her married name became Butler.1 After her marriage, Ellinor Power was styled as Baroness Caher on 31 January 1626/27.
