     Sir Henry William Ripley, 1st Bt. was born on 23 April 1813.¹ He was the son of Edward Ripley and Hannah Murgatroyd.² He married Susan Milligan, daughter of John Milligan, on 6 September 1836.¹ He died on 9 November 1882 at age 69.¹
     Sir Henry William Ripley, 1st Bt. held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Bradford between 1868 and 1869.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Bradford between 1874 and 1880.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Ripley, of Acacia, Rawdon, West Riding of Yorkshire and Bedstone House, Shropshire [U.K.] on 8 May 1880.¹

     Susan Milligan was the daughter of John Milligan.² She married Sir Henry William Ripley, 1st Bt., son of Edward Ripley and Hannah Murgatroyd, on 6 September 1836.¹ She died on 5 December 1886.¹
     Kirkcudbrightshire.¹ She lived Balmaghie.¹ Her married name became Ripley.

     Sir Edward Ripley, 2nd Bt. was born on 16 May 1840.³ He is the son of Sir Henry William Ripley, 1st Bt. and Susan Milligan.² He married Eugenie Frederica Fulcher Emmott-Rawdon, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Edward Alfred Green Emmott-Rawdon, on 31 July 1877.³ He died on 21 November 1903 at age 63.³
     Sir Edward Ripley, 2nd Bt. was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.³ He graduated from Christ Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1864 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).³ He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1870 entitled to practice as a barrister.³ He was also known as 2nd Baronet Ripley, of Acacia, Rawdon, West Riding of Yorkshire and Bedstone House, Shropshire [U.K., 1880] as of 9 November 1882.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 1st Admin Brigade, West Yorkshire Artillery Volunteers.³ He held the office of High Sheriff for the West Riding, Yorkshire in 1891.³ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the West Riding, Yorkshire.³ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding, Yorkshire.³ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Shropshire.³

     George Ripley was born on 31 March 1845.¹ He was the son of Sir Henry William Ripley, 1st Bt. and Susan Milligan.² He died on 17 March 1895 at age 49.¹

     Sir Frederick Ripley, 1st Bt. was born on 28 November 1846.¹ He was the son of Sir Henry William Ripley, 1st Bt. and Susan Milligan.² He married Katherine Little, daughter of David Little, on 27 June 1876.¹ He died on 22 November 1907 at age 60.¹
     Sir Frederick Ripley, 1st Bt. was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.¹ He was educated at Christ Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 2nd West Yorkshire Yeomanry Cavalry.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Ripley, of Acacia, Rawdon, West Riding of Yorkshire [U.K.] on 4 September 1897.¹

     Katherine Little was the daughter of David Little.² She married Sir Frederick Ripley, 1st Bt., son of Sir Henry William Ripley, 1st Bt. and Susan Milligan, on 27 June 1876.¹ She died on 24 April 1931.¹
     From 27 June 1876, her married name became Ripley.
