     Field Marshal Archibald Percival Wavell, 1st Earl Wavell was born on 5 May 1883.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Archibald Graham Wavell and Lillie Percival.3,4 He married Eugenie Marie Quirk, daughter of Colonel J. O. Quirk, on 22 April 1915.4 He died on 24 May 1950 at age 67.1
     He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902.4 He was commissioned on 8 May 1901, in the service of the Black Watch.4 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.4 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)5 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.5 He was Commander of the 6th Infantry Brigade, Aldershot between 1930 and 1934.4 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1935.4 He was Commander of the 2nd Division, Aldershot between 1935 and 1937.4 He fought in the Palestine Campaign between 1937 and 1938.4 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1939.4 He was Commander-in-Chief of the Middle East between 1939 and 1941.4 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1943.4 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1941.5 He was Commander-in-Chief of the India between 1941 and 1943.4 He was Supreme Commander of the South-West Pacific Area in 1942.4 He held the office of Viceroy and Governor-General of India between 1943 and 1947.4 He was created 1st Viscount Wavell, of Cyrenaica, and of Winchester, co. Southamtpon [U.K.] on 22 July 1943.4 He was appointed Knight Grand Commander, Order of the Indian Empire (G.C.I.E.)5 He was appointed Knight Grand Commander, Order of the Star of India (G.C.S.I.)5 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)5 He was created 1st Viscount Keren, of Eritrea and of Winchester, co. Southampton [U.K.] on 1 May 1947.4 He was created 1st Earl Wavell [U.K.] on 1 May 1947.4 He held the office of Constable of the Tower of London between 1948 and 1950.4

Major Harry Alastair Gordon1

     Major Harry Alastair Gordon was the son of Commander Alastair Gordon.2 He married Lady Joan Patricia Quirk Wavell, daughter of Field Marshal Archibald Percival Wavell, 1st Earl Wavell and Eugenie Marie Quirk, on 19 June 1948.2 He died on 19 June 1965.2
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)2

     Major Donald Struan Robertson was born in 1918.2 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Malcolm Arnold Robertson and Gladys Ingalls.1,2 He married, firstly, Hersey Caroline Ann Williamson, daughter of Captain Hon. Gerald Hayne Guthrie Williamson and Christian Alice Hersey Forbes, on 5 May 1945.3 He and Hersey Caroline Ann Williamson were divorced in 1973.3 He married, secondly, Lady Joan Patricia Quirk Wavell, daughter of Field Marshal Archibald Percival Wavell, 1st Earl Wavell and Eugenie Marie Quirk, after 1973.1 He died in 1991.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Scots Guards.1

     From 1975, her married name became Kellie.1 She lived in 2003 at The King's, Oxlynch, Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1
