     Lt.-Col. Edward William Montgomery-Cuninghame was born on 30 May 1878.1 He was the son of Sir William James Montgomery-Cuninghame of Corsehill, 9th Bt. and Elizabeth Hartopp.2 He married Mary Stewart, daughter of James Stewart, on 16 November 1909.1 He died on 6 April 1935 at age 56.1
     Lt.-Col. Edward William Montgomery-Cuninghame gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.1
