     Maria Thurlow was born illegitimately.1 She was the daughter of Edward Thurlow, 1st Baron Thurlow of Thurlow.2 She married Colonel Sir David Cunynghame of Milncraig, 5th Bt., son of Sir William Augustus Cunynghame of Milncraig, 4th Bt. and Frances Myrton, in 1801.1 She died on 21 February 1816.1
     From 1801, her married name became Cunynghame.1
