     Edward Thurlow, 1st Baron Thurlow of Thurlow was the son of Reverend Thomas Thurlow and Elizabeth Smith.2 He died on 12 September 1806, unmarried.3
     He was educated King's Canterbury and Caius College Cambridge.2 He was Prebendary Norwich).2 He was barrister Inner Temple , Bencher 1762, Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) Tamworth 1768–78, Slr-Gen 1770–71, Attorney-Gen 1771–78, Lord Chllr 1778–92, presided trial of Warren Hastings 1788 in 1754.2 He was King's Counsel (K.C.) in 1762.2 He was Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1778.2 He held the office of High Chancellor between 1778 and 1792.3 He was created 1st Baron Thurlow, of Ashfield, co. Suffolk [Great Britain] on 3 June 1778.3 He was created 1st Baron Thurlow of Thurlow, of Thurlow, West Suffolk [Great Britain] on 12 June 1792, with a special rmainder to his nephews.3

     Maria Thurlow was born illegitimately.1 She was the daughter of Edward Thurlow, 1st Baron Thurlow of Thurlow.2 She married Colonel Sir David Cunynghame of Milncraig, 5th Bt., son of Sir William Augustus Cunynghame of Milncraig, 4th Bt. and Frances Myrton, in 1801.1 She died on 21 February 1816.1
     From 1801, her married name became Cunynghame.1

     Sir Edward Augustus Cunynghame of Milncraig, 7th Bt. was born in January 1839.1 He was the son of Sir David Thurlow Cunynghame of Milncraig, 6th Bt. and Anne Meade.2 He died on 24 January 1877, unmarried.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 32nd Foot.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Cunynghame, of Milncraig, co. Ayr [N.S., 1702] on 12 November 1869.1 In 1874 he filed bankruptcy.3
