     Jane Sheffield was born in 1474 at Chelwell, Nottinghamshire, England.2 She was the daughter of Sir Robert Sheffield and Jane Lounde.1,2 She married, firstly, Sir Robert Staunton.2 She married, secondly, Sir William Hastings, son of Sir William Hastinges, 1st Lord Hastings and Katherine Neville, in 1500 at Chelwell, Nottinghamshire, England.2 She married, thirdly, Sir Ralph Shirley, son of John Shirley and Eleanor Willoughby, circa 1514.1,2
      Her married name became Staunton.2 From 1500, her married name became Hastings.2 From circa 1514, her married name became Shirley.1

     Robert Washington was born circa 1544 at Sulgrave, Northamptonshire, England.1 He was the son of Lawrence Washington and Amy Pargiter.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Light, daughter of Walter Light and Ursula Woodford, circa 1565.1 He died circa 1620 at Nether Boddington, Northamptonshire, England.1 His will was probated on 3 January 1621.1
      He acquired the manor of Radway and title to the manors of Horley and Hornton, Oxfordshire, through his wife.1 His last will was dated 7 February 1620.1
