Helen Skene1

     Helen Skene was born circa 1730.2 She was the daughter of David Skene, 1st of Pitlour and 5th of Hallyards and Jean Douglas.1 She married George Moncrieff of Reedie and Myres Castle, son of Colonel Patrick Moncrieff of Reedie and Anna Drummond, in 1746.2 She died in 1826.2 She was also reported to have died in 1816.3
     From 1746, her married name became Moncrieff.1

David Skene, 1st of Pitlour and 5th of Hallyards1

     David Skene, 1st of Pitlour and 5th of Hallyards was the son of John Skene, 3rd of Hallyards and Helen Pitcairn.1 He married Jean Douglas on 25 July 1718.2 He died in 1747.3
     He was granted in liferent and to Robert Skene, his eldest lawful son and his heirs, in fee lands of Easter Pitlour (henceforth called Hallyards.)2

John Skene, 3rd of Hallyards1

     John Skene, 3rd of Hallyards is the son of Sir Alexander Skene, 2nd of Hallyards and Barbara Forbes.1 He married, secondly, Helen Pitcairn, daughter of Patrick Pitcairn of Pitlour.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Makgill, daughter of Sir David Makgill of Rankeillour and Elizabeth Ruthven, on 4 February 1653.2 He died in 1707.2
     On 24 May 1653 he was served heir to his father.2 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court in 1672.2 He purchased Pitlour in 1683 from Patrick Pitcairn of Pitlour.2

Sir Alexander Skene, 2nd of Hallyards1

     Sir Alexander Skene, 2nd of Hallyards was the son of Andrew Skene and Bessie Cadell.1 He married Barbara Forbes, daughter of William Forbes of Craigievar.2 He died on 24 May 1653.1
     On 18 January 1628 he received a Crown charter in the Parish of Auchtertule, Fife.2 He was Servitor to Sir John Skene, Lord Clerk Register.2 He was appointed Knight in 1641.1 He lived at Hallyards, Fife, Scotland.1
