John Skene, 5th of Hallyards1

     John Skene, 5th of Hallyards was the son of John Skene, 4th of Hallyards and Elizabeth Wallace.2 He died in 1717, unmarried.1
     In 1713 he resigned the estate (which had been greatly encumbered by his father) to 6th Earl of Moray.1

     He obtained from his father the lands of Grange and Kirkcaldy.1

     Anna Drummond was the daughter of James Drummond, 1st of Cultmalundy and Elizabeth Stewart.2,3 She married, firstly, James Skene of Grange, son of John Skene, 3rd of Hallyards and Margaret Makgill, in 1688.1 She married, secondly, Colonel Patrick Moncrieff of Reedie, son of George Moncrieff of Reedie and Margaret Leslie, after 1698.1 She died in 1719 at Canongate, Midlothian, ScotlandG.3
     From 1688, her married name became Skene. From after 1698, her married name became Moncrieff.1
