     Lt.-Gen. Robert Brereton was born in 1747.1 He was the son of Major William Brereton and Marion Edmonston.2 He married Margaret Elizabeth Dexter, daughter of John Dexter and Anne Fish, on 2 March 1809.1 He died on 30 June 1816.1
     Lt.-Gen. Robert Brereton gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the Army.1 He was commander of the Southern District, Ireland.1 He held the office of Governor of St. Lucia between 1803 and 1807.1 He purchased New Abbey in 1807 from Janetta Brereton.1 He lived at New Abbey, County Kildare, Ireland.1

     Major Robert Brereton was born illegitimately on 25 September 1788.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Robert Brereton.2 He married Henrietta Dasant Sadler in September 1816.1 He died on 5 August 1852 at age 63.1
     Major Robert Brereton lived at Clifton College, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.1 He retired from the military in 1842, with the rank of Major, late of the Black Watch.1

     Her married name became Brereton. From 9 February 1857, her married name became Blunt.1 From November 1876, her married name became Todd.1
