     Major Richard Henry Lowry Carden was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England.³ He was commissioned in 1921, in the service of the Royal Field Artillery.¹ He was served with the Armies of Occupation in Turkey between 1921 and 1923.¹ Between 1925 and 1929 and Germany.¹ He was Territorial Adjutant of the 87th Field Brigade, Royal Artillery between 1934 and 1935 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England.¹ He retired from the military in 1936, with the rank of Major, late of the Royal Artillery.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He lived at Fishmoyne, Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland.³ He lived in 1976 at 94 Bruce Avenue, Worthing, Sussex, England.¹

     Heather Rose Carden was born on 12 August 1925.¹ She is the daughter of Major Richard Henry Lowry Carden and Margaret Patricia Rose Finch.^2,1 She married John Navarino Fellowes Edwards, son of John Burnell Edwards, on 2 October 1951.¹
     Heather Rose Carden was served in World War II with in the Women's Royal Naval Service.¹ From 2 October 1951, her married name became Edwards.
