James Dewar, 1st of Vogrie was born in 1664.3 He was the son of James Dewar of Carrington and Heriot and unknown wife (?).2 He married, firstly, Jean Halyburton, daughter of Patrick Halyburton, on 13 February 1701.3 He married, secondly, Janet Johnston on 11 September 1709.4 He married, thirdly, Isobel Brown on 18 August 1723.3 He died on 26 January 1744.4
