     Colonel James Denis Dillon was baptised on 21 November 1718.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Arthur Dillon, Comte Dillon and Christina Sheldon.2 He died on 30 April 1745 at age 26, killed leading his men to victory over the British.1
     Colonel James Denis Dillon was invested as a Knight, Soveriegn Military Order of Malta.1 He was Colonel Proprietor of the Dillon Regiment from 1744 to 1745.1 He fought in the Battle of Fontenoy on 30 April 1745.1
