     Colonel Francis Powell Braithwaite was the son of Reverend John Masterman Braithwaite.1 He married Lady Victoria Alexandrina Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, daughter of Frederick Temple Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, 1st Marquess of Dufferin and Ava and Hariot Georgina Rowan-Hamilton, on 1 October 1920.1 He died on 23 December 1952.1
     Colonel Francis Powell Braithwaite was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).1 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.).1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Royal Engineers.1 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.).1
