     Rodney Elton, 2nd Baron Elton was born on 2 March 1930.1 He was the son of Godfrey Elton, 1st Baron Elton and Dedi Hartmann.3 He married, firstly, Anne Frances Tilney, daughter of Brigadier Robert Adolphus George Tilney, on 18 September 1958.1 He and Anne Frances Tilney were divorced in 1979.1 He married, secondly, Susan Richenda Gurney, daughter of Sir Hugh Gurney and Mariota Susan Carnegie, on 24 August 1979.1 He died on 10 August 2023 at age 93.2

     From 18 September 1958, her married name became Elton. After her marriage, Anne Frances Tilney was styled as Baroness Elton on 18 April 1973.
