     Rodney Elton, 2nd Baron Elton was born on 2 March 1930.1 He is the son of Godfrey Elton, 1st Baron Elton and Dedi Hartmann.2 He married, firstly, Anne Frances Tilney, daughter of Brigadier Robert Adolphus George Tilney, on 18 September 1958.1 He and Anne Frances Tilney were divorced in 1979.1 He married, secondly, Susan Richenda Gurney, daughter of Sir Hugh Gurney, on 24 August 1979.1

     Anne Frances Tilney is the daughter of Brigadier Robert Adolphus George Tilney.2 She married Rodney Elton, 2nd Baron Elton, son of Godfrey Elton, 1st Baron Elton and Dedi Hartmann, on 18 September 1958.1 She and Rodney Elton, 2nd Baron Elton were divorced in 1979.1
      From 18 September 1958, her married name became Elton. As a result of her marriage, Anne Frances Tilney was styled as Baroness Elton on 18 April 1973.
