Charles Dundas was born on 11 September 1806 at Hearnhead, Devon, England.2,3 He was the son of Robert Dundas, 2nd Viscount Melville of Melville and Anne Huck-Saunders.2 He married Louisa Maria Boothby, daughter of Sir William Boothby, 8th Bt. and Fanny Jenkinson, on 1 August 1833 at St. Oswald, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, England.2,3 He died on 24 February 1883 at age 76.2
