     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.1

     Cicely Morton Mansel-Pleydell was born on 12 December 1882.1 She was the daughter of Rev. Canon John Colvile Morton Mansel-Pleydell and Beatrice Maud Smith.2 She married Colonel Nevile Hugh Cairns Sherbrooke, son of Reverend Henry Nevile Sherbrooke and Lady Lilias Charlotte Cairns, on 16 January 1906.1 She died on 27 December 1938 at age 56.1
     From 16 January 1906, her married name became Sherbrooke.3
