John Leyland Feilden was born on 29 September 1821.1 He was the son of Sir William Feilden, 1st Bt. and Mary Haughton Jackson.2 He married, firstly, Eliza Whigham Kennedy, daughter of James Kennedy, on 8 October 1851.1 He married, secondly, Charlotte Isabella Collin, daughter of Peter Collin, on 31 October 1894.1 He died on 12 March 1915 at age 93.1
He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 3rd Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.1
