     Mary Joanna Sophia Carr was the daughter of Reverend Thomas William Carr.2 She married Major Walter Hepburn Melitas FitzHerbert, son of Lt.-Col. Richard Henry FitzHerbert and Ellen Margaret Hepburn, in 1886.1 She died on 11 February 1937.1
     From 1886, her married name became FitzHerbert.

     He was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1910 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was Joint Headmaster between 1925 and 1933 at Stancliffe SchoolG.1

     He lived at Wootton Court, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1
