     John Erskine was born on 30 December 1758.1 He was the son of James Erskine, Lord Alva and Jean Stirling.1 He married Christian Carruthers, daughter of John Carruthers, on 23 August 1786.1 He died on 16 January 1793 at age 34.1
     He was a practising barrister.1 He was Clerk of the Commissary Court.1

James Erskine, Lord Alva1

     James Erskine, Lord Alva was born on 20 June 1722.1 He was the son of Charles Erskine of Alva, Lord Tinwald and Grizel Grierson.1 He married, secondly, Jean Stirling, daughter of John Stirling.1 He married Margaret Macguire, daughter of Hugh Macguire, on 19 June 1749.1 He died on 13 May 1796 at age 73.1
     He held the office of Lord of Session in 1761.1 He was styled as Lord Barjarg [Scottish Law Lord] in 1761.1 He was styled as Lord Alva [Scottish Law Lord].1

     Peter Payne-Gallwey was born on 27 July 1906.1 He was the son of Albert Philip Payne-Gallwey and Katherine Mary Vaughan-Lee.2 He married Ann Josephine Barber-Starkey, daughter of Roger John Kinloch Barber-Starkey and Edith Victoria Legard, on 27 August 1953.1 He died on 20 November 1971 at age 65 at Tumblewood Cottage, Upper Lambourn, Berkshire, England.1,3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) and two bars (1941 and 1943).1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 11th Hussars.1
