     Emanuele Filiberto Guerrieri di Savoia-Carignano, Conte di Mirfiori e Fontanafredda was born in 1851 at Castelceriolo. He was the son of Vittorio Emanuele II di Savoia-Carignano, Re di Sardegna and Rosa Teresa Vercellana, Contessa di Mirafiori. He married Bianca de Larderel in 1873. He died in 1894 at Sommariva Bosco.

     Sultan Karim Khan IV was born in 1936.2 He is the son of Prince Aly Khan and Hon. Joan Barbara Yarde-Buller.2,3 He married Sarah Frances Croker Poole, daughter of Lt.-Col. Arthur Edward Croker Poole, in 1969.4 He and Sarah Frances Croker Poole were divorced in 1995.4
     Sultan Karim Khan IV was educated at Le Rosey School, Rolle, Switzerland.1 He graduated from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A., with a Bachelor of Arts, Honours (B.A.).1 In 1957 he received personal title of Highness from HM Queen Elizabeth II.1 He is spiritual leader and Imam of Ismaili Muslims all over the world.1 He succeeded to the title of HH Sultan Aga Khan on 11 July 1957.2 He was a leading racehorse owner and breeder in France and Ireland.1 He was president of Aga Khan Foundation in 1967 at Geneva, Switzerland.1 He held the office of Founder and Chancellor of Aga Khan University in 1983.1 He lived in 2003 at Aiglemont, Gouvieux, France.1
