     Colonel Edward Acton Gibbon was born on 20 December 1881.1 He was the son of Surgn.-Maj. Edward Acton Gibbon and Eliza Rebecca Taylor.2 He married Dorothea Mary Cooper, daughter of Harry Joseph Cooper, on 7 October 1920.1 He died on 16 February 1966 at age 84.1
     He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He gained the rank of officer between 1912 and 1916 in the service of the Eyptian Army.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He purchased Errington in 1945.1 He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.).1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Royal Army Medical Corps.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Tyrone.1 He lived at Errington, Trellick, County Tyrone, Ireland.1
