     Edward Clive, 2nd Earl of Powis was born on 22 March 1785. He was the son of Edward Clive, 1st Earl of Powis and Henrietta Antonia Herbert. He married Lady Lucy Graham, daughter of James Graham, 3rd Duke of Montrose and Caroline Maria Montagu, on 9 February 1818. He died on 17 January 1848 at age 62 at Powis Castle.
     Edward Clive, 2nd Earl of Powis gained the title of 2nd Earl of Powis.

     Edward Clive, 1st Earl of Powis was born on 7 March 1754.1 He was the son of Robert Clive, 1st Baron Clive of Plassey and Margaret Maskelyne.1 He married Henrietta Antonia Herbert, daughter of Henry Arthur Herbert, 1st Earl of Powis and Barbara Herbert, on 7 May 1784 at London, England. He died on 16 May 1839 at age 85.
     Edward Clive, 1st Earl of Powis succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Clive of Plassey, co. Limerick [I., 1762] on 22 November 1774.1 He was created 1st Baron Clive of Walcot, co. Salop [Great Britain] on 13 August 1794.1 He was created 1st Baron Powis, of Powis Castle, co. Montgomery [U.K.] on 14 May 1804.1 He was created 1st Baron Herbert of Chirbury, co. Salop [U.K.] on 14 May 1804.1 He was created 1st Earl of Powis, co. Montgomery [U.K.] on 14 May 1804.1 He was created 1st Viscount Clive of Ludlow, co. Montgomery [U.K.] on 14 May 1804.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2
