     Edward Herbert, 2nd Earl of Powis was born on 22 March 1785.1 He was the son of Edward Clive, 1st Earl of Powis and Lady Henrietta Antonia Herbert.1 He married Lady Lucy Graham, daughter of James Graham, 3rd Duke of Montrose and Lady Caroline Maria Montagu, on 9 February 1818.3 He died on 17 January 1848 at age 62 at Powis CastleG, accidentally shot by one of his younger sons while hunting pheasant.1
     He was given the name of Edward Clive at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Ludlow between 1806 and 1839.1 On 9 March 1807 his name was legally changed to Edward Herbert by Royal Licence.1 He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1808 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Montgomeryshire between 1830 and 1848.1 He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1835 with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Herbert of Chirbury, co.      Lady Lucy Graham was born on 25 September 1793. She was the daughter of James Graham, 3rd Duke of Montrose and Lady Caroline Maria Montagu.1 She married Edward Herbert, 2nd Earl of Powis, son of Edward Clive, 1st Earl of Powis and Lady Henrietta Antonia Herbert, on 9 February 1818.1 She died on 16 September 1875 at age 81 at Walcott, EnglandG.1
     Her married name became Herbert. After her marriage, Lady Lucy Graham was styled as Countess of Powis on 16 May 1839.
