     General Lord William Frederick Ernest Seymour was born on 8 December 1838.1 He was the son of Admiral Sir George Francis Seymour and Georgiana Mary Berkeley.1 He married Hon. Eva Anna Caroline Douglas-Pennant, daughter of Edward Gordon Douglas, 1st Baron Penrhyn and Lady Maria Louisa FitzRoy, on 31 August 1871 at Bangor, Caernarvonshire, Wales.2 He died on 9 February 1915 at age 76.1
     General Lord William Frederick Ernest Seymour gained the rank of Midshipman in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Batlic Campaign in 1854.1 He fought in the Crimean War in 1856.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Coldstream Guards.1 On 7 February 1871 he was granted the rank of a marquess' younger son.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.).1 He fought in the Egyptian Campaign in 1882.1 He held the office of Lieutenant of the Tower of London between 1902 and 1905.1
