     Lady Hilda Charteris was born on 13 October 1854.1 She was the daughter of Francis Richard Charteris, 10th Earl of Wemyss and Lady Anne Frederica Anson.1 She married William St. John Freemantle Brodrick, 1st Earl of Midleton, son of William Brodrick, 8th Viscount Midleton of Midleton and Hon. Augusta Mary Fremantle, on 4 December 1880.2 She died on 1 August 1901 at age 46.2
     Her married name became Brodrick.

     Hon. Grace Blackburn was born circa 1857.2 She was the daughter of Major John Blackburn and Maria Warburton.1,2 She married Francis Richard Charteris, 10th Earl of Wemyss, son of Francis Wemyss-Charteris, 9th Earl of Wemyss and Lady Louisa Bingham, in December 1900.1 She died on 13 February 1946 at London, EnglandG.1
     After her marriage, Hon. Grace Blackburn was styled as Countess of Wemyss in December 1900. Her married name became Charteris.

     Mary Constance Wyndham was born on 3 August 1862. She was the daughter of Hon. Percy Scawen Wyndham and Madeline Caroline Frances Eden Campbell.2 She married Hugo Richard Charteris, 11th Earl of Wemyss, son of Francis Richard Charteris, 10th Earl of Wemyss and Lady Anne Frederica Anson, on 9 August 1883.1 She died on 29 April 1937 at age 74.1
     Her married name became Charteris. After her marriage, Mary Constance Wyndham was styled as Countess of Wemyss on 30 June 1914.

     Hugo Francis Charteris, Lord Elcho was born on 28 December 1884.1 He was the son of Hugo Richard Charteris, 11th Earl of Wemyss and Mary Constance Wyndham.1 He married Lady Violet Catherine Manners, daughter of Henry John Brinsley Manners, 8th Duke of Rutland and Marion Margaret Violet Lindsay, on 1 February 1911.2 He died on 23 April 1916 at age 31, killed in action.2
     He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Gloucestershire Yeomanry.1 He was styled as Lord Elcho between 1914 and 1916.1

     Lady Violet Catherine Manners was born on 24 April 1888.2 She was the daughter of Henry John Brinsley Manners, 8th Duke of Rutland and Marion Margaret Violet Lindsay.2 She married, firstly, Hugo Francis Charteris, Lord Elcho, son of Hugo Richard Charteris, 11th Earl of Wemyss and Mary Constance Wyndham, on 1 February 1911.2 She married, secondly, Guy Holford Benson, son of Robert Henry Benson, on 9 July 1921.2 She died on 23 December 1971 at age 83.2
     From 1 February 1911, her married name became Charteris. From 9 July 1921, her married name became Benson.

     Francis David Charteris, 12th Earl of Wemyss was born on 19 January 1912.1 He was the son of Hugo Francis Charteris, Lord Elcho and Lady Violet Catherine Manners.2 He married, firstly, Mavis Lynette Gordon Murray, daughter of Edwin Edward Murray and Grace Bradbury Emslie, on 24 February 1940.1 He married, secondly, Shelagh Kathleen Thrift, daughter of Ernest Thrift, on 29 April 1995.1 He died on 12 December 2008 at age 96 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.3

     Mavis Lynette Gordon Murray was born on 31 January 1911 at Calvinia, Western Cape, South Africa.2 She was the daughter of Edwin Edward Murray and Grace Bradbury Emslie.1,2 She married Francis David Charteris, 12th Earl of Wemyss, son of Hugo Francis Charteris, Lord Elcho and Lady Violet Catherine Manners, on 24 February 1940.1 She died in 1988.1
     Mavis Lynette Gordon Murray also went by the nick-name of Babs.1 From 24 February 1940, her married name became Charteris. After her marriage, Mavis Lynette Gordon Murray was styled as Countess of Wemyss on 24 February 1940.

     James Donald Charteris, 13th Earl of Wemyss was born on 22 June 1948.1 He is the son of Francis David Charteris, 12th Earl of Wemyss and Mavis Lynette Gordon Murray.1,2 He married, firstly, Hon. Catherine Ingrid Guinness, daughter of Jonathan Bryan Guinness, 3rd Baron Moyne and Ingrid Olivia Georgia Wyndham, on 16 July 1983.2 He and Hon. Catherine Ingrid Guinness were divorced in 1988.2 He married, secondly, Amanda Claire Marian Feilding, daughter of Basil Percy Terence Henry Feilding and Margaret Mary Feilding, on 29 January 1995.2
