Philip Sidney, 3rd Baron De L'Isle and Dudley of Penshurst was born on 14 May 1853.1 He was the son of Philip Sidney, 2nd Baron De L'Isle and Dudley of Penshurst and Mary Foulis.1 He married Hon. Elizabeth Maria Vereker, daughter of Standish Prendergast Vereker, 4th Viscount Gort and Hon. Caroline Harriet Gage, on 12 June 1902.2 He died on 24 December 1922 at age 69, without issue.1
He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baron De L'Isle and Dudley of Penshurst, co. Kent [U.K., 1835] on 17 February 1898.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Shelley Sydney, of Penshurst Place, co. Kent [U.K., 1818] on 17 February 1898.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Rifle Brigade.1
