     John Dalrymple was born on 17 April 1692.1 He was the son of Hon. Sir Hew Dalrymple of North Berwick, 1st Bt. and Marion Hamilton.1 He married Mary Ross, daughter of Alexander Ross of Balkail.1 He married Mary Anne Whitefoord, daughter of Sir Adam Whitefoord of Blairquhan, 1st Bt. and Hon. Margaret Dalrymple Cathcart.2 He died in 1753.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Enniskillen Dragoons.1

     Lt.-Gen. Sir James Adolphus Dickenson Oughton was born in 1720.2 He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Sir Adolphus Oughton, 1st Bt.2 He married Mary Ross, daughter of Alexander Ross of Balkail.1 He died on 2 May 1780 at Bath, Somerset, England.2
     He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.)1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the Scotland.2 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Antigua.2

     General Sir Adolphus John Dalrymple, 2nd Bt. was born on 3 February 1784.2 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Hew Whiteford Dalrymple, 1st Bt. and Frances Leighton.1 He married Anne Graham, daughter of Sir James Graham, 1st Bt. and Anne Moore, on 23 June 1812.1 He died on 3 March 1866 at age 82, without issue.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington Burghs between 1826 and 1832.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Dalrymple, of High Mark, co. Wigtown [U.K., 1815] on 9 April 1830.1 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1

     Anne Graham was the daughter of Sir James Graham, 1st Bt. and Anne Moore.1,2 She married General Sir Adolphus John Dalrymple, 2nd Bt., son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Hew Whiteford Dalrymple, 1st Bt. and Frances Leighton, on 23 June 1812.1 She died on 10 May 1858.1
     From 23 June 1812, her married name became Dalrymple.1

     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Cockermouth between 1802 and 1805.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Wigtown Burghs between 1805 and 1806.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Cockermouth between 1806 and 1812.2 He succeeded as the 1st Baronet Graham, of Kirkstall in 1808. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Carlisle between 1812 and 1825.2
