Sir John Caldwell, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir Henry Caldwell, 2nd Bt. and Catharine Hume.2 He married Anne Trench, daughter of Very Rev. John Trench and Anne Warburton, on 11 July 1719 at St. Bridget's Church, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.2 He died from 14 February 1743/44 to 18 February 1743/44.2 His will (dated 5 January 1742/3 to 14 February 1743/4) was probated on 14 May 1744.2
