     Lt.-Col. George Hotham was born on 18 October 1770.2 He was the son of General George Hotham and Diana Pennyman.2 He married, firstly, Caroline Gee, daughter of Roger Gee, on 1 March 1792.2 He married, secondly, Rosamond Best, daughter of Reverend Francis Best, on 29 June 1813.2 He died on 23 April 1823 at age 52.2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 3rd Guards.2 He lived at York, Yorkshire, England.1
